The reception fella was really friendly and helpful, so we were greeted very well. The room however, needed renovation. It had a leather chair which was all worn and cracked so much so I wouldn't sit on it. Also the headboard had the leather worn and looked really awful. The basin was huge and the toilet, and the tap where the water came out was corroded and full of limescale, really not pleasant. The safe was closed and was supposed to be open so couldn't use it. Everything else looked clean and everything else worked ok.

The staff were so friendly and very accommodating, room was clean but twin rooms are so dated in comparison to the double room. The tv did not work, and there was issues with the temperature gage in the shower. Bed was comfortable

The room was comfortable, but it was not explained that the rooms are not serviced each day, so we were taken aback when we returned to our room & bed unmade etc. We did ask for more tea & coffee as we stayed 3 nights, but no more was put into room.

Rooms (and furnishings in them) are a bit ‘tired’. With my previous stay, the air conditioning did not work, only blew out hot air; fine in winter but not in the summer. Being just off the M4 the location of the hotel is good. Service was very rushed. It is unlikely I would stay there again.

The standard of cleanliness in the restaurant was not good even if we had not been in a pandemic. Tables were not being cleaned between guests. There was only 1 sanitising station evident in the hotel and this was at reception we were not advised that for the room to be serviced we needed to hang a notice on the room door and returned after being out on the first day of our stay to find the room had not been serviced. We didnot see any sign of a track and trace QR code anywhere in the hotel. All in all not what we expect from Mecure , compared to our other stays in Mercure hotels during the pandemic

A nice area to stay, beautiful countryside. Staff very attentive and friendly rooms clean. Two things that let this hotel down, food was run of the mill substandard not very exciting or palatable. The bed in our room you could feel every spring, very lumpy. In my opinion the bed was old and worn, knackered not a good night sleep at all.

The hotel was warm and I was surprised how basic them room was as it was the most expensive of our options. We were going to our friends wedding so we thought we would treat ourselves but a premier inn would have been cheaper and cleaner with modern facilities. Breakfast was a buffet with most things cold and not great. Again I was surprised as we said for the money we paid at least we will have a nice breakfast but it was very basic. I wouldn’t book this chain again x

Hotel room nice , breakfast very poor. Unfortunately hotel was not observing proper Covid regulations e.g. staff without masks in some areas; tables in restaurant not cleaned between customers, which should be standard even pre pandemic. Lack of hand sanitising stations across the hotel. Hotel room not serviced but we were not informed at check in that we had to request this ,whereas on our previous Mecure stay at a different hotel since the pandemic this was asked about at check in. Been to much better Mecure Hotels before.

Slept in a cupboard

Turned up at the hotel, no one on reception and had to ring the bell. Given room 236 which was effectively a converted store cupboard. The room was far too hot and the bathroom taps were a mere trickle making brushing teeth and washing hands harder work than it needed to be.

We booked as it was convenient for a wedding we were attending at Wasing Park. The front of house staff were attentive, polite and pleasant. The Olive bar was good. The food was hot, fresh and tasty. So what was the Could have been better...... The room was disappointing, we paid extra for a better room but it was dark due to the small window. The worn out chairs were not inviting at all. The towels didn't hold water. Some of the lights didn't work. The fan didn't work in the bathroom. And after a long day at the wedding we returned late and the room hadn't been serviced. We left at 1230pm so there was plenty of time in the afternoon to service it.
