My first time using the hotel, service was excellent and made to feel welcome. The free parking was really good. I would have scored a ten, but my room was above the smoking area so it was a bit noisy at times. I will be returning to the hotel on the 18th January and I have requested a different room, so possibly a ten on its way.

Felt comfortable and safe. Like the fact not in town centre location and carparking felt safe.3 night stay so ate twice in the evenings using the room service, food was excellent, can recommend the Caesar Salad with Chicken. Staff were helpful and friendly too.

We stayed in room 209 with our baby. Positives were the front of house man. I think he may have been a manager. He checked us in, but also took our orders and bought our food. So thankyou to him. The food was fantastic in the evening but also at breakfast. We ate in our room but it was trayed up for us and we loved it. Negatives. The bath had mould around the silicone. No need for it to be honest. Towels were really small. We aren't huge people either. Lots of noise from a courtyard until around 1130pm. I think it was people smoking? Then the fire alarm went off twice after midnight. A good thing was that the manager came to our room to reassure us. Lots of noise in the corridor which seemed odd that so many people were in the rooms next/opposite us despite being so empty and knowing we had a baby.

Staying on a weekly basis at the moment. The trouble is i have stayed in both the renovated ones as well as older ones. There is a marked difference. The newer rooms have no carpet, have an enclosed modern shower rather than bath. Look much nicer too. Less needless furniture. The older ones look tired. I will ask if i can have one of the newer rooms in future as so much better. Staff very friendly. Due to the pandemic, i didn't ask to change rooms when i got an old one again.

Excellent Breakfast takeaway pack, well received, as I needed to stay for business reasons. Considering we are in the middle of a pandemic, the Hotel offered room service for food, to keep social distancing in place. Room clean and comfortable, would stay again should the need arise.

The stay was good/satisfactory. The aircon unit in room 217 was noisy and the fan was making a rattling noise. To warm up the room I had to put up with the noise. When I turned off the aircon, the noise did not stop (I waited for half an hour) until I summoned help from the gentleman on reception. They had to open the ceiling access door and they manually turned the unit off. However, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The steak was fabulous. Staff were helpful and very friendly (especially the young lady who worked at reception in the morning of 11.11.2020). Thank you to the management and all the staff for making us feel safe from this Covid 19 pandemic.

Good value, friendly staff and clean well-decorated rooms. A little different at the moment with the bar/restaurant being closed, but they are pleasant spaces when open. Large free car park, and a good location with easy access to Thatcham, Newbury and Reading.

Great stay, staff are following government guidance and policing this well in the hotel with residents, really reassuring to see this. Rooms and all areas of the hotel are clean along with well stocked with sanitizers etc. The WiFi works well in both the rooms and public areas. Food is well managed and safe to dine, social distancing of tables etc, nothing too much trouble for the wonderful staff that made my stay a relaxing work essential. Thanks again.

Comfortable stay. Staff and management attentive throughout and hotel kept clean and hygienic. Dinner menu was limited but understandable under the circumstances, however the quality was good. It would have been nice to have some fruit available as part of the breakfast offering.

Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom exceptional. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly in difficult circumstances with reduced staffing levels. It was lovely to have a cooked breakfast served on a hot plate, the breakfast was definitely cooked to order

On arrival in our room we were quick to realise that the sink didn't have a plug, leaving a gaping hole into which should something fall, would be lost. The manager did all that he could to find a replacement, unfortunately with little luck. He did say that he would would the right size the next day and all would be sorted. Bearing this in mind after a long journey and having unpacked we decided to remain in the room declining the opportunity to change rooms. The evening meal was served by the same person who greeted and welcomed us on arrival; he.had a good sense of humour and did all that he could to make us feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble for him. We enjoyed the various courses and the accompanying wine. Sleep did prove problematic, with the AC making a terrible rattling noise which continued for a long time even after it was switched off. The flush on the toilet didn't stop running automatically, so well after half an hour my husband managed to stop it. We realised that this would be a problem throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the lack of a plug continued to be a problem as the manager had not been to find a replacement the next day. It's these little things that have a negative effect on a stay. I cannot understand why no one had sorted out the room problems in the past. Not what I would have expected from a superior room. It is important to note that at all times staff at the hotel were polite and helpful.
