We had a family wedding near by, we had 7 rooms in total booked, everyone had lovely double rooms apart from us, we had a very small double so small you could only get out one side of the bed, disabled partner and me 67, not possible to crawl off the end of the bed. I asked if we could change after one night only to be told very rudely NO, also the lift wasn't working which is nobody's fault but apparently the general manager very rudely again was very sarcastic when saying its a act of god what will I do !!!!! The next morning I spoke to Nicola on reception and she changed us to a downstairs room, after that we we happier, NO excuse for rudeness

Good location, lovely hotel

Reception was friendly and informative, room was spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable. Shower room could have done with a bit of attention as it was looking a bit well-worn. This didn't bother me so much, but other guests M. be less forgiving. Evening waiter (Sunday 19th June) was very friendly. The other staff were less attentive, but polite enough. Food was nice (beetroot salad starter especially), breakfast was also nice. Overall, my stay was pleasant enough, but the hotel could do with a little attention to bring it into line with similarly priced properties. The lift wasn't working for example, and there were signs of wear and tear. They wouldn't put me off booking again, but the market is competitive!

Only one member of staff on arrival, not good enough. Very hard bed so a very poor nights sleep. Breakfast ok. Not up to the standard I expect from Mercure. Lift didn’t work also

Just 1 complaint, from one of my dinner guests, a wheelchair bound disabled lady! You need to organise a metal plate to enable wheelchair to pass over door frame step at top off access ramp! Please!

Well located with ample parking surrounded by pleasant grounds & countryside. Reception staff were very welcoming, helpful & polite throughout our stay. We booked a superior room which was comfortable & airy with an en suite which featured a large walk-in shower. There was the added bonus of a fridge & safe too. Despite being close to a main road, there was little noise even with the windows open. Good range of food for breakfast. Unfortunately the lift was only working for one day of our stay which meant carrying luggage up & down stairs to our first floor room. We noted also that there was no service guide in the room (maybe they were removed during COVID?) Otherwise, a good stay.
