Was told there were no more microwaves to give out? It was a snow storm and I really did not want to out to get food, so I threw my lasagna away. I will say that the museum experience was amazing, to take a moment away from reality. I would stay here again, but I guess bringing food to reheat is near to impossible.

A renovated hotel that offers good amenities. Great location close to many museums, shops, restaurants. We had a corner suite facing the inner courtyard. The room was spacious and nice. Due to COVID, no housekeeping was provided and we had to ask twice for the trash to be taken and towels to be swapped. Comfy bed and nice shower. Hotel offers discounted parking at a garage nearby. Would consider staying there again.

I had 2 rooms booked that I reserved over 2 weeks in advance via Hotels.com. We arrived very early on the 14th knowing it was before the 4p check-in time so I was not surprised that our rooms were not ready and the hotel staff was nice enough to check our luggage. We arrived back at the hotel at 3:45p and there was a long line of people with various needs, some were checking in. We were told that neither one of our rooms were ready so we waited in the waiting area until 4:15p which is when I got up and asked how much longer it was going to be - We had guests coming as well as dinner plans (that we ended up missing!). We were finally checked in around 4:30p but for only 1 of our rooms! We were told that the front desk would call me when the other room was ready and they would bring us the keys - We waited in the room until almost 5:45p and I ended up calling the front desk myself to see how much longer it was going to be - Our dinner reservations were at 6p so we ended up missing those and had to find another spot which was incredibly difficult considering it was Valentine's Day, and the fact that Chicago is reservations-only. The hotel tried to put it back on me saying that we could have still gone to dinner and kept our luggage in the room that we did have, however the whole reason we booked a second room was to surprise some friends of ours with a nice Valentine's Day downtown so I would have liked for them to get settled in their own room and have some champagne setup for them, etc etc. Instead we had to sit around in 1 room just waiting. We finally got the room key for the second room around 6p. While it was nice that the hotel waived the Urban Fee, it also wasn't much and in no way makes up for the lack of organization and planning of the hotel. We are Chicago city natives and live close by to the hotel. We frequently like to staycation here and there, especially at notable and unique hotels in the city since we don't have many excuses to visit them - We also wanted to host a couple of friends who are not from Chicago and this experience was just an overall bust. We will absolutely never book with 21c again.

Stayed for three nights of an in town local Winter honeymoon. Searched for interesting stand outs in Chicago and this made some lists with great reviews. We liked the area and would be excellent when not in pandemic and heart of Winter. Still nice location. Package included parking in safe close professional lot next door. Hotel itself has lots of personality and charm. The very cool social history and art museum on first floors was great. They gave us an upgraded corner suite. Nice layout with plenty of room. Interesting modern decor. Quality features overall. Bedroom was corner with huge windows looking out at the city. Best part. The booking and staff and service experience was really good. Everyone was professional and skilled and very welcoming and helpful. We had to adjust our stay within a severe winter storm and booking connected us with hotel directly and very accommodating. Very well kept and clean and sanitized. Only issue was inability to have any food or drink (no ice no vending nothing) service due to COVID. Not there fault and appreciate the safety focus. But booking said yes to hotel restaurant and room service open but hotel confirmed no upon checking in. Just made all good and drink more challenging. By second day we had a cooler with ice and snacks and had success with good local food delivery but it would be a better experience if you could enjoy the restaurant and room service and at least have some ice (no in room refrigerator). Overall it was expensive (500$) but not overly so for place and quality. Very good experience and nice honey moon with great people.

Paid an amenity fee and did not have any amenities including a newspaper. Bed was too low to ground and very dark hallways. Absolutely no soda or water available on sight and wet bar and nothing but alcohol and alcoholic mixed in it to drink. Had to leave hotel to get water. No soda available in the entire area.

If your going to stay at a hotel during a pandemic, 21c works!

Second stay at the hotel since the pandemic and what the hotel has going for them is their staff! Marc in sales gets it and from there front desk, security and housekeeping make you feel taking care of when services are extremly limited. Zach at the front desk should be promoted, his customer service had me rebook the the hotel 6 weeks later. He recognized our needs and double down with attention to detail, when we questioned the depleted services during our first stay. Once all the amenities get restored, 21c has the potential to compete with Chicago's elite hotels by simply keeping attentive staff who care about your needs. Rooms are fairly new, so detailed housekeeping will be key in keeping its freshness.

The 21c Hotel, located in Chicago, was wonderful. The hotel is inviting and very clean. The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. All areas, common spaces and hotel rooms, are very modern and new. The hotel is beautiful. We loved the museum gallery - what a great concept to have a museum within the hotel. Our room was furnished with exceptional furniture and a very comfortable bed. Sleek lines, generous towels and great lighting. It was functional and spacious. We will come back!

Everything was great and in fact too good to be true for the booking price. The bubble burst when I was slapped in the face with the "urban experience fee" during check-out. Had I known that, at the end of the day, I would be charged for the minibar and premium wifi that I never wanted (which I thought were great free amenities until the last minute), I would have gone to another hotel to begin with. This is pretty much scam in my opinion.
