Horrible attitudes in the Lockbox restaurant and bar. The room was 75° when we got there and took FOREVER to cool!!!!

Our stay started out bad but it turned around. Our first room was so small and cold. It had no hair dryer and the bathroom did not have any heat control. After my husband went downstairs and complained we were given another room which was much better. The front desk was great !

Booked the hotel for a meeting through a vendor. The hotel staff was nice. Greyson was outstanding and the food was great. Hotel manger, Brian was nice to inform us of potential problems with a water leek outside the building and had a backup plan. Felt like things were lacking on cleanliness- dirty rag in the elevator, several in the group mentioned that the rooms were not so clean- floors not swept, etc. And was a little disappointed that the restaurant was not open during our stay. There was not even a place to gather for a cocktail or chat pre- or post-meeting. Guests all had to careful check their bill because charges were added if a cabinet was opened despite non-use.

We'd stayed at one 21c Museum hotel before, the one in Cincinnati, and enjoyed it very much. Remarkable art, great staff, full covid protocols, wonderful restaurant. So we decided to try the Lexington hotel for an overnight stay. We arrived to find that the restaurant, to which we'd been looking forward, was closed. This was the night of Jan 4, and apparently the NY weekend had exhausted the staff. Or something. There was no notice of this on the website. We had actually been trying to call and ask about the restaurant and a couple of other things, but all calls to the hotel went to reservations, calls to the restaurant no one answered. The young man who checked us in was very polite and suggested other local options for dining. The room was very nicely appointed, the bathroom very spacious, and the bed very comfortable. However the room's HVAC was difficult to control; if we just tried to lower the temperature a degree or two, it would blow cold air (!). The system cycled on and off repeatedly, and worst of all, it was extremely loud. Like: wake you up loud. Next morning we wanted to see the hotel's gallery, after all that's what the hotels are known for, but a young couple who were also guests were in there, unmasked, so we weren't going to share space with them. Possibly the hotel doesn't enforce any kind of COVID protocols because it would be too unpopular in Kentucky, however we did see that hotel staff--with the exception of one maid pushing a cart--were fully masked. We would certainly stay at a 21c hotel again, but probably not this one. Installing modern HVAC into a vintage building must be very difficult but whatever was done at this hotel was a mistake.

Loved the heated bathroom floor. The room was spacious and I liked the lighting around the bed. Was not really fond of the in room coffee but my overall experience was very good. The food that was served during our meeting was outstanding!!! I would stay there again if I have the opportunity. Thank you.

Sweet spot for 70 degrees in the main room was maybe a millimeter wide. Temperature in bathroom was uncontrollable. The thermostat was unresponsive. On the plus side, the facility is amazing, and the restaurant did a good job of accommodating us despite understaffing due to omicron.

Heating unit in the room didn't work and room temperature never got above 61. When the front desk was told, I was given a 50% discount. That was acceptable.

I recently stayed in a suite on New Years Eve. I called ahead of time and asked to have two wine glasses in the room prior to my arrival. They stated that would be no problem and they would be there. Upon arrival, there were no glasses. I drank my wine out of the espresso cups in the room. Around 10:45/11pm I went downstairs to purchase a bottle of wine at the bar. It was closed because they needed to “prepare” for NYE. I asked I could purchase a bottle to take back to the room. It was a No. If you spend $500/night for a room and get no sort of service, why is the room so expensive?? Would not recommend to friends/clients.

made reservation and had early check in request, arrived a little later and room was still not available. Had to change in the public restroom. Staff offered to keep my luggage there since I let the valet have my car. Had to go get my own car, Also when I came back at 1030pm they could not even take my luggage to my room. I had to walk to the side lot to get my car the next morning as well. Requested to be contacted by manager and it never happened,

My husband and I were visiting our son for a UK football game. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The room we had was a corner room and I did love it! It had a minibar fridge and a Nespresso machine. We enjoyed going around and looking at the Art that was in the hotel, which makes this place so unique. We had a drink at the bar and the bartender was great!! I would definitely stay here again.
