Great stay had over the course of 3 nights, the hotel appears to be in later stages of a refurbishment and I seem to have been ina new room, the room was well appointed with usable workspace and comfortable bed plus air conditioning with during the heatwave was a blessing. The bar is nice if only service was a little swifter. Key note is that you must register your car in the car park with the keypad in reception, they really should tell you about this when you check in but any observant person should see the tablet with the sign on say car registration. Other than a very pleasant hotel with very pleasant staff who were happy to gou out of their way to make my stay comfortable

Watch out for the Carpark!!!

We stayed at this hotel for the first time whilst bringing my daughter and Grandson home to Harlow, from Cornwall. After a 10 hour journey myself and my elderly mother pulled up, relieved to get out of the car. We were booked in and headed straight to our room. Ate in the restaurant, which was nice. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Got home and a week or so later I received a carpark fine of £100! Apparently it is clearly signposted and staff take reg plate etc, which they didn't and we didn't see any signs. I have appealed it, which has been declined. We usually stay at Premier Inn and they always ask for car details, as no one did I didn't even consider there was an issue! Please watch out for this if you chose to stay here!!

My company booked me here so i didst have a choice in booking this hotel and after reading the reviews i was dreading staying here, however it wasn't as bad as expected. Hotel is going under refurbishment, there is plastic wrap all over one of the stairs as they were painting. Staff were really friendly on reception and in the bar. My room was basic but clean, yes it was a little worn but much better than travel-lodges i have stayed in. The air-conditioning worked perfectly while through the 30 degree heat, I checked all the sheets after reading the other comments and again all clean. Carpet was a bit worn but no marks. Sleep was undisturbed (i'm a light sleeper) and did'nt see anyone hanging around after 9pm. Breakfast was a bit of a free for all, no one to sit you down or even checked if you had breakfast on your booking. Food was edible but luke warm, not loads of choice but it was ok. I wouldn't rush to book this again, but overall it was OK for a night.

Was I ok hotel for A night room was ok looks like it’s in the process of being refurbished But it said free parking wasn’t asked for my car reg at reception so didn’t think nothing if it as I’d had a king day well got back home a week later to a parking fine I paid it then complain it was cancelled but still waiting for a refund The reception staff should of said something but far to busy chatting to each other I’ve asked the hotel for help to get my refund back from the company they use to charge people to park in a free car park And they have ignored me Will never stay there again

Awful experience would not return

Awful experience and terrible customer service. We paid for breakfast which was then not available in the morning due to staff issues. Our major complaint was with the attitude of the receptionist ‘Paige’ who worked alongside the ‘duty manager’ on the day of our visit (8th July) Paige’s Attitude was terrible from the onset. Instead of trying to resolve our issue which was merely to seek a refund for the breakfast they hadn’t provided, she began a series of stock phrases…..” you’re venting your frustrations on the wrong people”….. “ I’m not trained to do anything….. I’m new here”( Paige in fact then went on to say at the end off the altercation that she’d worked at the hotel for years!)…..” have a good day” at no point did Paige enter into a reasonable dialogue or offer a solution about how we could gain the refund that we reasonably deserved. None of what Paige said was either necessary or good customer service and at one point she threatened us with the fact that the discussion we were attempting to have with her was recorded!….. I implore the hotel management to review the footage and deal with Paige’s customer service needs according! We did finally receive a refund due to our persistence and the final support of the duty manager who phoned someone in order to find out how to process a refund….. but the handling we had was awful and unnecessary. The hotel itself is tired but the rooms are clean but we would use the hotel again due purely to this staff members attitude…..There are many better and more pleasant budget hotels around!
