the room was not ready even though we did online check-in, the breakfast buffet can be a little better, more variety and be on time ( att 6 30 in the morning was very little to choose from. Cleaning was satisfactory.

It is the perfect location if you need to travel from Gare de l’Est, or go visit the city using the metro which are 3 minutes away. The breakfast was ok, but I was expecting a bit more of variety.

The whole thing is a tiny whole with a bunch of beds crammed between some walls.

Bad experience, tiny bathroom and poor breakfast

I am an ALL Gold customer and I know the network's hotels and their configurations around the world very well. However, I did not expect the bad experience I would have at the ibis Styles Paris Gare de l'Est Magenta. The worst of the problems was the bathroom in the room we were given (406) had the saline toilet in a space next to a column that simply made it impossible for an adult to use it, especially if you are not extremely thin. Definitely the worst hotel bathroom I've ever seen in my life. I asked two attendants for a room change and was denied. I sent an email 3 days before my check-out time (I stayed 5 nights) and was simply ignored. We also identified a leak from the shower that flooded part of the room, it was reported in the email and nothing was done. Breakfast: poor, with few options of fruits and sweets, in two days the pain au chocolat disappeared and was not replenished. Despite this, the two young ladies at the cafe were friendly. The same cannot be said for some of the front desk attendants, especially the one on 1/1 in the afternoon. He scowled on the sofa when we walked in and we simply said "good night" (he was on his phone). I've been to other hotels and buildings in Paris and I know the limitations of space, but what has been done to this hotel is something rather bad and causes a bad experience. Anyway, I do not recommend the hotel to any of my friends, family or readers. It will detract from your experience in Paris, just as it detracted from mine.

Well located hotel

The hotel is well located with Gare de l'Est just a few minutes walk away. The neighborhood is lively with plenty of restaurants nearby, but you can also easily go for a lovely and quiet walk around Canal Saint-Martin. The room was very quiet and the bed comfortable. The only negative thing about the hotel was the attitude of some of the staff. Some of them hardly said bonjour at the reception or lifted their eyes from the smartphone. One guy was half lying on the reception sofa when I went for breakfast and I later realized he indeed worked at the reception. Very strange. Otherwise I had a really nice stay at the hotel.
