very unpleasant reception staff annoying banging door lift no pool maintenance and no service (no staff all day long, towels and drinks everywhere) no information given about no wifi service when checking in

This hotel has a beautiful location with a delightful shady garden and a small pool. The rooms are nice, although many are planned to be renovated and they need it!

Good location, clean but room had a slight smell of damp or something. My biggest issue however is that, I had already paid EUR 483.39 for the room when I booked on ALL Accor, and my confirmation email says I had nothing further to pay, and yet on check-out they suggested I didn’t pay and owe EUR 790.34. It was 4am and I had a taxi waiting for the airport so I didn’t have time to double check and argue, so I have now paid twice an extortionate amount for 3 nights in an average room. I have sent a request for a refund of the extra EUR 790.34 I was wrongly charged but have still not heard back. Please check your systems and refund me. Thanks Pinar

Some issue. Hotel was unable to arrange for taxi, even when asked the evening before. Seems an issue. Problem with airconditioning. Window did not close. Breakfast did not always find my things quickly. Would have preferred an English breakfast with fried egg, porridge, baked beans etc. early check in waned. Was not able to arrange. Had to wait to day of arrival. Would have wanted an offer to go to pool.

Regarding the different points on which you are not satisfied, know that the "Welcome drink" can only include a draft beer, a glass of wine or a soft drink. It is not eligible for the full Bar menu. On the other hand, early check-in are subject to availability and therefore cannot be guaranteed. We are sorry that this has affected the quality of your stay. The pool is open to all our customers, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., so we do not understand your comment on this service. Finally, we are aware that taxis are a real problem in Marseille and that it is very difficult to get them, and especially on time. We apologize for this, even if we are dependent on them and not responsible. We hope to have the opportunity to catch up with us during a future stay and make you forget this one. My son and I spent the weekend of 25 & 26 at this hotel for we had a Marseille swim event on saturday. The hotel is just fine but the reason for this post is the staff. Now, Mercure is a large chain, but it is run as a 'mom & pop' hotel with lots of personal attention for the guests. We could ask anything and they would be as flexible as possible to give whatever we asked for like a late snack or some cream for a skin rash due to the swimming. Everybody was helpful and with the most beautiful smiles on their faces.
