Very good staff and location, but room was very dusty even after cleaning. Restaurant food and staff are brilliant! Very tasty! Also pay attention that room photos doesn’t corresponds to the chosen room. Hotel employees doesn’t speak English well which cases some issues (sometimes I got not what exactly what I order), but I believe it is local specific. Generally staff is trying to do the best for you :)

Stayed two nights at this hotel, room number 1811. Couple of issues at the time of check in, night shift wasn’t aware that we got a written approval for an night check in 3:30 am instead of 2:00pm per hotel guidelines. Also when that issue was solved somehow we end up on the floor that is supposedly under renovation (per hotel manager) we changed 2 rooms and every room was worse than another. The next morning the hotel also charged us for a breakfast when breakfast was included at the time of booking. Once we got hold of the hotel manager after complaining of course our stay got better by the seconds. Hotel Manager took care of us and fixed everything within an hour. Can’t thank her enough. Immediately upgraded our room, solved the issue with the breakfast bill, and as hotel complimentary send it a bottle of wine, such a nice thought. With all those goodies we didn’t want to leave when the time came along😂 Breakfast is decent (pancakes are hard as a rock) spa is closed due to COVID obviously, The bottom line the hotel facility is pretty (contemporary style) also great location, and if we come back to Istanbul I would definitely stay at Sofitel again and for sure would recommend to my friends and family members.

I’m coming and stay in Sofitel Last three months a lot of time! And They mention they are luxury hotel but really they are not a luxury hotel at all ! Not good buffet for breakfast ! Look like as a three stars!! They do not have executive lounge ! For memberships They offer only small menu 6 kinds of food !!! Pitza ! Pasta ! Salad ! ...!

Sofitel staff was absolutely kind and helpful, service was excellent. The hotel location was perfect and the room experience was 10/10. Only negative point was about the breakfast, that we found a little bit boring and not varied.

Facilities were excellent and I did receive a complimentary upgrade which I truly appreciated. However, service in the restaurant and bar left much to be desired. I dined there three times and the waitstaff did not make me feel like a valued customer. I had to wait up to 25 minutes for the menu, during one dinner, my dining companion received their meal a full 20 minutes before my appetizer was even brought out, and on more than one occasion, I would call the waiter over, and see them ignore me to assist other customers who asked for assistance after me. I also did not appreciate that after check out I was not allowed back inside the dining area. I understand the COVID restrictions, but given that I had been a guest less than 3 hours prior and there was NOTHING open, not a single cafe or area for me to sit, I stood outside the hotel in the rain for an hour. It felt like as soon as my card cleared, I was no longer a valued customer and as such, I will no longer be a future customer either.

Within staying in the hotel we have faced several major problems: our toothbrushes were not replaced, they never replenished coffee tablets, serving in the restaurant during dinner time was last day we spent in the hotel. The General manager never wanted to meet to solve the problem

To the attention of the general manager, I am writing a letter of complaint in regards to the poor experience we had whilst staying at your property during our special occasion. I will address below in bullet points all the issues encountered whilst staying at your property that made our stay unmemorable. - Firstly, during check in staff were chit chatting and laughing while I was checking in which came across very rude and uncourteous. A common practise would be to show etiquette whilst serving a customer. - Room was unclean from day one, there was dust on the floor on the head board of the bed. It was evident that the room was not thoroughly cleaned. Even the bathrobes smelled and were worn by a previous guest as it was really dirty. You can be sure that the room was not clean as there were receipts and paper left on the floor of the previous guest which I can tell you was named Ibrahim from all the paperwork found lying around. - The next day I left a clear note on the bed as per the picture attached. Asking for the bed sheets to be replaced and the room thoroughly cleaned. After returning back from a long day we found that no sheets had been replaced and the room was not thoroughly cleaned you could see the tables, floor etc were still unclean with marks, stains and dust. - During that night while we were sleeping, I could smell the pillow covers were not clean and moreover the sheets had a smell to it. Not fresh as we expected. We asked a staff to provide us new sheets so that we could change it ourselves as it seemed the housekeeping had very limited knowledge in cleanliness. When we took the sheets off, we were gobsmacked to see the filthy dirty duvet. I have attached pictures. We had to get this changed! - Breakfast service was very poor. I understand that during these uncertain times there are new measures in place with regards to how breakfast is served. But there were a few individuals whom made the experience not good with their approach. When we came to enjoy our breakfast on most days, we had to wait a very long time to get hold of someone to plate up our breakfast. What was very frustrating was the fact that they were in a mood and a strop. After I selected a few items they handed back my dish and said ‘enjoy your breakfast’ and walked off. There were other parts of the buffet I wanted to get things from and not finished. It’s really common sense for them to ask is there anything else we require? as that would have meant we didn’t need to come back and find someone again to select other items. - Moreover, our toilet was in a bad condition. Every time you sat on it, it moved down, springy not stable. Almost felt like it was coming off the wall. When we put the lid down and had a look, we noticed that the toilet was loose from the wall. I have attached a picture for your reference. - The internet during my stay was very appalling for a 5-star property. As I was doing work from my room, I required a good connection to upload media due to the nature of my work. The speeds I was getting was around 5mb which was considerable slow for a high-end property. I informed your colleagues but they were not able to fix the issues. I went on multiple devices to be sure it wasn’t my laptop but unfortunately the internet was extremely slow. On the lockdown days we were not even able to watch any online videos without continuous buffering. I have attached a picture of the speed test result for your information. - During our stay, our floor level continuously had a very bad smell that was seeping through to our room. I raised this with one of your colleagues from reception and asked if they could send someone to check on it. But it seems my request went on deaf ears and nothing was done about it. - On our last night, around 10/11pm we noticed cigarette smell seeping through our ventilation. I called guest services and told them of the issue. But their response was unhelpful. To summarize, we gave multiple opportunities for Sofitel Taksim to make it right when we had issues. But it is apparent that our concerns were taken lightly and shrugged off. We have been in turkey for 3 weeks and have stayed at other major properties like Hilton; Marriot. Their cleanliness and hygiene were to a high standard at all times without any compromises to their commitment. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the housekeeping and cleanliness provided by Sofitel Taksim especially during these uncertain times where more rigorous cleaning is required. Accor’s ‘All Safe’ policy was undermined and not followed. I ask you to review what I have mentioned above alongside the pictures attached and get back to me with a response. Kind regards, Mr R.

A enjoyable stay considering the current circumstances with the COVID measures and curfew in place. Location is good to get around and not too difficult to find your way to main touristy area. Breakfast was good, limited choices but this is the same in all hotels these days and the staff did there best to make up for it, always willing to help with offers of coffee, tea, fruit juice and so on (a special thanks to Faik). There were a several people that stood out but unfortunately not many of the staff had name tags. The room was well presented and it was great to get a room that was cool, have been to many hotels during the winter and the room remains at hot summer temperature over night making it uncomfortable to sleep. Our room was cool and sleeping was no a issue especially the bed made it even easier.

dear sir, i was very satisfied, but i had a problem and i need you to fix it. the last day i asked to stay till 18:00 and the man in the reseption told me it is 50 euro more and i accepted. when i came to pay, he charged me 850 TL,wich is 90 euro and not 50 euro as i was told to pay. i was in a hurry because my taxi was already outside and i could not wait to fix it. I demand you to annul ( cancell) this charge and demand to send me the mony back on my credit card. best regards, guy z. (gu…)

The staffs are generally helpful, very attentive to detail especially the housekeeping department. It was nice to receive a birthday surprise which is kind a nice. The concierge also provides good recommendation. In regards to recommendation of PCR Test for the Covid-19, the Reception gentleman only provided 1 location, which was not a good recommendation because they were not able to provide result within 24 hours as informed by Hotel Reception gentleman (a young guy), so I had to go all the way to the Airport to get it done. The Spa hours for the facilities (sauna & steam) also varies between 1 attendant and the other attendant, I visited the fitness center everyday to exercise. One night I was able to use the facilities (sauna & steam) after 8 PM, also other guests I saw using those after 8 PM, the next night I was not able to use it after 8 PM because it was attended by other person. Overall it was nice, though. I travel around the world and holding many hotel loyalty programs, I understand Covid-19 might restrict some of the flexibilities, but the 5-star standard I believe must remain. I have recommended to other friends who are planning to come to Istanbul.

Very good service and staff are all helpful and accommodating, from the moment you stepped in at the entrance upto settling in your room. Special mention to Mr. Aykan head of Concierge extends extra mile in assisting us (tour,transpo,reservation etc.) making sure it will be perfect for me and my children to the rest of our stay, and ofcourse tailored to your liking. Brava!!
