The Mercure Bendigo Schaller hotel was booked by my Employers in Melbourne for my work in Bendigo. With the 'strangeness' of these current times and circumstances beyond our control, I applaud anyone in business that meets this challenge. Considering the constraints placed on your busy staff, I found them to be friendly and professional. In pre 'Covid 19' times, I believe I would have appreciated a Restaurant meal that would have been on offer. Having read online criticisms of the hotel rooms not being spacious enough, I did not feel cramped at all. For one person, the dimensions of the room were acceptable and I have no interest in 'swinging a cat'. Most importantly, the room was clean and its temperature easily controlled. The bed was very comfortable. I would have preferred more viewing options on the TV, but that was a very minor thing. Given the option, I would definately stay here again and I would highly recommend this hotel to the business traveller.

I felt that the customer service could have been a lot better... the lack of information regarding the change of service around catering for dinner etc. The room I stayed in had terrible smell... possibly a cleaning product used that was extremely potent in fumes. I chose to not stay a second night as the smell was too potent. The mini bar was poorly stocked... given no food available at the cafe after hours it should have some things in it.... only 1 tiny milk. No biscuits even to have with coffee and tea. I was very disappointed with my stay.

You lost points for the bed for the extra adult in the connecting room. I thought i was getting a pull out sofa bed. Instead I got a very hard surface with only a thin egg shell topper. It was not a comfortable night and I was unable to sleep due to the hardness of the area. As I had to have my aged parents to the hospital in the morning, I was very dissapointed with the quality of the extra bed. I kept on waking up and having to turn over as it hurt my hip bones. Rooms small but that was as advertised. They were neat and tidy. Meals very nice and staff very friendly.

Even with the required changes due to COVID19 we were made welcome. We were impressed to see hand sanitizer along with a sign in sheet at the entry and that guests had access to sanitized pens. We were able to enjoy our complimentary drink and even with limited seating and a limited menu we enjoyed dinner both nights in the restaurant. Thank you to all the staff at Bendigo Schaller.

We absolutely loved our stay and we are so pleased the Schaller is now under the Accor umbrella. It is our hotel of choice when visiting Bendigo. We love the well appointed, bright, light rooms with super comfy beds and spacious bathroom. The communal areas on the ground floor are so welcoming and interesting. Parking is easy and the staff are brilliant. We were given a couple of recommendations for dinner as the in house dining was understandably unavailable on a Sunday evening during these unusual times. Thank you for looking after us so well, we will be back.

When we arrived all the COIVD measures were in place. The reception person was super friendly and helpful and as an Accor member we received free drinks. Got to our room and there was a birthday card and bottle of wine for our stay, so cool!

I am a Accor Gold member and have been staying at this hotel on a weekly basis since mid May for business purposes. I have been reluctant to provide feedback as I was hoping for a change in staff and better service but unfortunately I have been left with no choice but to vent some of my frustrations. My first stay was excellent and I was treated with the basic perks that a gold member would normally get (a free upgrade and a welcome gift). I stayed at the 3rd floor and my welcome gift was a bottle of wine. My second stay, I once again stayed at the 3rd floor but I had no welcome gift and was only given it when I phoned to ask about it. My third stay, my welcome gift was a small pack of pringles. My fourth stay, they were peanuts, then it was a small pack of Ferraro Rocher chocolates from here on. Today, I was given chocolates once again but was given a first floor room (no availability, I think not in this climate). I do not like to give negative feedback like these as it makes me appear cheap but I am a loyal returning customer that should be treated well and I do not feel that I am being treated as such. The reception staff (Samantha) has been treating me with disregard and disrespect as though I am here to take advantage of them. I know it is hard times and we are living with a pandemic but it does not excuse them for being cheap towards their loyal returning customers. At times, I have felt like taking my business elsewhere it wasn't for my Accor membership which I am trying to upgrade to platinum. Thank you.

In regards to your room allocation, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your first floor room, I have made a note on your profile to try our best to allocate a third floor room. However, please note that due to Covid-19, we leave the rooms empty for three days after a guests departure to try and ensure the safety of our cleaning staff, it is for this reason that we sometimes can be running short of the Superior Room upgrade, with only 8 of this room type available in the hotel.
