Front desk Gilbert checked us in. We had little bit of concern with the room and he took care of us above and beyond. Friendly to begin with but I love the way he swiftly took care of our concerns. We stayed at the one bedroom suite. Bed was super comfy. Room was really clean. Bathroom was spotless. Location was ideal close to time square and other attractions.

The only negative was a breakfast dish that was not prepared properly and had to be sent back. The experience was not worth the price. Diner next door was a better value

Unfortunate luggage incident

I have always had a great time staying at the Sofitel New York, but last time I had a very unfortunate experience. On the day of my checkout, I checked my luggage and went out to lunch as I had an evening flight. Upon my return, when I went to pick up my checked luggage, one of my suitcases was missing. Fortunately, I had an AirTag in the suitcase and was able to track it on its way to JFK with another guest. To my luck, the manager on duty, Bijou, was able to track down that guest and retrieve my suitcase. I just hope next time around the bell captains are more careful when handing out checked luggage.
