I am a very frequent guest at Novotel Rajarhat, dining regularly at The Square and Cafe Joy, where many staff know me by name. My overnight stay on 27th March 2026 was deeply disappointing and not because of the room but due to a serious lapse in guest care. At checkout I realized I had left my wristwatch in the washroom. I immediately informed reception staff Ms. Amandip Kaur, who said a bell boy would check. I also flagged it to two other staff members. Each came back saying nothing was found. The watch is a discontinued Timex model, irreplaceable in sentimental value. What hurt more than the loss was the casual, almost dismissive manner in which my concern was handled. No urgency, no escalation to a senior, no follow-up call. This is simply not the standard I expect from a 5-star Accor property. I have formally escalated this to the GM and Accor Customer Care and request an investigation including room access and CCTV review for that period.

To begin with, the rooms felt dated and poorly maintained. While we did receive an upgrade to a larger room, which was appreciated, the condition of the room itself did not match expectations. Room service was disappointing. The first meal was below average, and after that we chose to order all subsequent meals through delivery apps instead. Checkout was painfully slow, but the most frustrating part came at the very end. This was a staycation and I had driven my own car to the hotel. When the valet returned it, the car was covered in a thick layer of dust. It was honestly embarrassing to drive it back in that condition. The only reasons this is not a one star review are the room upgrade and the very competitive price at which we booked the property.

The stay was very comfortable. Jyoti made sure my husband’s birthday would be special. She took care of us and it was a very pleasant stay because of her. The staff was very polite and nice.
