Upon arrival we were greeted and treated by the front desk staff in a very pleasant and professional manner. Upon entering our room we found it pleasant and comfortable. Then my husband and I went out for the evening for a couple of hours. Upon our return we found that the room had an overwhelming stench. The stench was so bad we had to change rooms. According to the gentleman who helped us with our bags, this is not an isolated incident and is known by the hotel. The room we were moved to did not have operable air conditioning. We reported this to the front desk the next morning. Nothing happened. I then reported it again the next day and the front desk gentleman informed us that the air conditioning to the rooms had been shut down due to the lateness of the season. He then offered to move us again. This raises the question, what good would it do moving to another room if the air conditioning system was shut down. Eventually a service technician showed up but he just turned the unit off and on. This did nothing to remedy the problem. There is an assumption when booking a hotel room in an establishment such as yours that the guest would be provided with a comfortable and habitable room. Here, the hotel failed miserably. To compensate for this "inconvenience" the hotel offered $40.00 off our next stay. obviously there will not be a next stay. Its important to stress that the stench problem is known to the Hotel.

Such a high class hotel with great service. Rooms were clean on arrival and cleaned subsequently every day we stayed, water and coffee pods replenished, with clean cups too. Perfect quieter location but good walking and transport links, and on route for good cycle lanes. Yes the deposit seems expensive but it makes perfect sense and in our case was refunded within 48hours. Would definitely stay again :)

Large hotel with half the elevators not working causing 5 -10 minute delays every time. One entry escalator also out of service for whole three days. Breakfast options are poor and scattered randomly around the breakfast room. Choice and quality is low. Rooms are tired. Bedroom doors so heavy they are very difficult for older or frail person to push open.

Overall, my stay was very good, and I appreciate the service provided. However, I would like to share a suggestion for improvement. Please consider adding a sign at the terrace door on the fourth floor indicating that the terrace closes at 9 PM. After that time, the door can still be opened from the inside, but it remains locked from the outside. I experienced being locked out and had to call reception from my mobile phone to have someone open the door for me. Fortunately, I had my phone with me, but I am concerned about what would happen if a guest did not have their phone at that moment.
