Busy hotel with queuing

I stayed here in September 2025. It is currently difficult to get to the front of the hotel by car due to roadworks. The hotel feels big and the reception area feels like a lobby to a shopping centre. There was a long queue to check in and in the morning an even longer queue for breakfast. It took staff a long time to allocate a table for each guest even though there were plenty of spare tables. The hotel seems popular with large tour groups. The room was comfortable and high up enough not to hear the city noise. However it did not feel a relaxing hotel.

1) The first couple nights were booked as part of our Viking post-cruise and I booked additional nights directly. I worked with Pullman hotel, in advance, to upgrade the Viking nights to match my direct reservation nights so I would not have to change rooms. When I arrived The Pullman hotel did not have a record of our upgrade agreement. I was subsequently given an upgraded room with an obstructed view and a half sized window. 2) I attempted to connect chrome cast to the TV The steps were followed and was unsuccessful. The front desk was called and I was told someone will be sent up shortly. 45 minutes went by without anyone showing up. I canceled the request so they wouldn’t wake me if I went to sleep. Tried a second time the next morning by talking directly to the staff in the lobby. Someone followed me up to the room and did everything I did without success and said he would send someone else up. While waiting 1.5 hours for the next person, I did some additional debugging on my own and passed along what I discovered. That person then said he will go down and make a change to see if that works. That was the last thing I heard without a further follow up. No solution to the problem. 3) The auto fan setting for the Heat/AC worked fine for all but the last night. The last night we came in, the room was too warm. Turning the thermostat down did not engage the fan to cool the room. While reporting the problem to the front desk the fan engaged and the front desk indicated they are not aware of a problem. I later woke up during the night and found the room was too warm again and had to turn the fan to continuously on. 4) When checking out I was asked how my stay was. I said it had problems we had to deal with. No query as to what the problems were.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Considering the price I paid, I expected more, but it was still a good hotel. The rooms were clean, but the service was not great. Also, the breakfast buffet was very crowded and you had to wait a long time to find an empty table. The lobby downstairs was also very crowded and was always full of people who you didn't know were guests or passersby. Of course, the rooms were quiet. Overall, the hotel is a bit overpriced for the facilities it offers.

The hotel received a high-value package delivered to me on my behalf, and left it unattended in a public area for 2 hours without notifying me. The hotel even denied receiving the package after inquiries, and the package was found by myself.
