We had an alarm constantly going off from 11.30pm till about 2.00am . No one could be contacted. There is no staff on-site which is not usually our experience at a 4 star hotel. The answering service in Queensland could not contact security or anyone else. Not to have some assistance on-site is NOT good enough. We finally thought it may be a smoke detecter alarm and solved the problem by removing the battery. Why aren't these batteries checked regularly?

We completely understand how frustrating and uncomfortable this situation must have been and we regret that it impacted your stay. Additionally, we’ll address the issue of smoke detector batteries to prevent this from happening in the future. My wife and I took a trip to Magenta Shores and had a very relaxing time. The course is in immaculate condition and the pro shop was very accommodating. The rooms could probably do with an upgrade, but nothing to complain about. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
