This is my 23rd staycation starting from Dec 2023 when I started my staycations so I have many hotels to compare with. When I arrived a very friendly doorman took my bag from the cab and brought me to the counter for check in. I was brought to the 25th floor as I had booked a room with access to the Gold lounge. Staff there were very attentive, notably Syakirah and James. Service at the lounge was outstanding. The room was good with a pillow menu. I had a good view of Marina Bay from the room. There was also a hot and cold water dispenser. I didn't know how to operate it for hot water so eventually I just used a kettle as the phone was engaged when I called the royal service. The next morning I informed Syakirah who asked James to come with me to the room to show me how to use the hot water dispenser. He turned it on and said it would take a while to heat up. However, after I came back to the room after having a drink at the Eight, the water was still not hot. I told James who said he would get it checked. I don't know if it was checked as I didn't check it myself before checking out. The bedroom slippers are very thinly padded. They are probably the most thinly padded slippers of all the hotels I've been to, with the exception of Capella, which had very thinly padded slippers as well. Food at the lounge was good and it had freshly squeezed orange juice in addition to the usual bottled juices. I had breakfast at the Asian Market Cafe which had a good range of Asian food. Overall the service was excellent.
